Halloween Tunnel Trips

Why not come along and enjoy our spooky Halloween trip through Islington Tunnel on board one of London's community narrowboats specially decorated for the occasion. As the boat glides through the darkness of the 199 year old tunnel you may encounter a friendly witch or another ghoulish character and you may find yourself amongst some eerie sights...if you are lucky. Just remember in the tunnel nobody can hear you scream, so be afraid...very afraid. As we return to the canal museum, hopefully in one piece you may like to join in our frightfully fun Halloween Dance Party, but be aware that anybody caught not having fun will be turned into a toad. The trips are on the evening of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October from 3pm to 9pm. Places are limited on each trip so please book early to avoid disappointment. Babies are counted even if they are carried in arms. The trips depart from the Canal Museum and tickets can be purchased by visiting the Canal Museum Halloween Page. Expect the unexpected as you look around the London Canal Museum. There will be special activities for children in the museum so make sure you allow time for these either before or after your boat trip. Look out for horrible sights and listen for screams! Explore the corridor of fear Listen to horrible noises, and look out for horrible pictures in unexpected places. You are advised to be at the museum at least 15 minutes before your trip - the boat cannot wait for latecomers.

Our aim is to offer the leisure, discovery and educational opportunities a canal trip on 'Tarporley' can make possible.  An introduction to London's canals is to discover a secret world running through the city.  She will give you an exciting and different day (or more) out.

'Tarporley' Narrowboat

'Tarporley' is a 1937 working boat which has been converted and run in London as Camden’s community narrowboat for over thirty years.  Skippered cruises on 'Tarporley' are available to all groups from charities, clubs and schools to businesses and private parties (we can take a maximum of 12 people). So that we can continue to meet our costs, and make Tarporley available to disadvantaged groups and others all year round, the hire-fees for private bookings are higher, effectively subsidising customers from community groups.

N. B. Tarporley is an historic vessel; she can only be handled safely with skill and experience, and she is therefore not available to hire on a self-steer basis, so why not let us show you

Where is 'Tarporley'?

Tarporley has her home mooring on the Regent's Canal at Kings Place, 90 York Way, Kings Cross, London N1 9AG.  We are just 400 yards north from Kings Cross & St. Pancras Stations.
