Christmas 2017 is just around the corner, have you booked your Christmas Party yet? A boat trip is a unique way to celebrate the holidays. Whether it’s an office Christmas Party or a get together with up to 12 friends a Regent’s canal trip onboard Camden Canals community narrowboat “Tarporley” could be for you. Skippered cruises are available to all groups from charities, clubs and schools to businesses and private parties (we can take a maximum of 12 people).
Tarporley is 72' (nearly 22m) long and 7' wide and she can carry only 12 passengers. ‘Babes in arms’ do not count. Nine or 10 adults can sit outside at the front in the well-deck, equally, there is plenty of room inside with seating for 12 in the front cabin where there is background heating for any cold periods.
Our up to 3 hour trips depart Kings Place and head west to Camden and back or east through the Islington Tunnel to Kingsland basin and back. There is currently 20% discount on all trips.
We have a small kitchen so please bring your food and drink, we do not provide food, though tea and coffee are available. Do bring whatever you want. Our galley or kitchen has a fridge, gas hob, hot water and a large worktop but no microwave or oven onboard. All manner of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils are available.
'Tarporley' is a 1937 working boat which has been converted and run in London as Camden’s community narrowboat for over thirty years. Skippered cruises on 'Tarporley' are available to all groups from charities, clubs and schools to businesses and private parties (we can take a maximum of 12 people). So that we can continue to meet our costs, and make Tarporley available to disadvantaged groups and others all year round, the hire-fees for private bookings are higher, effectively subsidising customers from community groups.
N. B. Tarporley is an historic vessel; she can only be handled safely with skill and experience, and she is therefore not available to hire on a self-steer basis, so why not let us show you
